modelines for this 7" 800x480 pixel monitor weren't in the manual or on Faytech website.
Wrote to Faytech support in Germany. Fast reply with:
"800x480" 31.500 800 860 940 1000 480 508 511 525 -hsync -vsync
seems to run fine.
lsusb reports:

see supporting Egalax driver with evtouch xorg driver
